Blustery west winds in the wake of a strong cold front will usher in the coldest air of the season tonight through the upcoming weekend. By Friday morning, temperatures will tumble into the middle to upper 30s. Even with partly sunny skies on Friday, daytime temperatures will only reach into the lower to middle 50s. The colder airmass will remain in place through the weekend.

The cold air settling into the region will result in overnight temperatures dipping into the upper 20s to middle 30s over the weekend. This will lead to an increasing likelihood for widespread frost, and the end of the growing season, away from Lake Michigan.
