Lake Michigan Mid-Lake Buoys to be Pulled for the Winter

The U.S. Coast Guard will be pulling the mid-lake weather buoys from northern Lake Michigan (45002) and southern Lake Michigan (45007) over the next week. Here is an updated schedule for the USCG Mackinaw to retrieve the weather buoys:

Northern Lake Michigan - 45002 November 27th

Southern Lake Michigan - 45007 December 2nd

The buoys are brought in for any needed maintenance and stored for the winter season. The buoys are usually re-deployed sometime in March...depending on weather and ice conditions on the lake.
