2012 Warmest Year on Record at Milwaukee & Madison (Updated 1/2)

Milwaukee experienced at or above normal mean monthly temperatures every month in 2012, except for October and September.  Similarly, Madison experienced at or above normal mean monthly temperatures every month in 2012, except October and September.  

As such, the 2012 mean average temperature in Madison was the warmest on record, and in Milwaukee tied for the warmest on record.  This was attributed to a Top 5 warmest 2011-2012 winter, the warmest Spring 2012 on recorda top 3 warmest Summer 2012, and (most recently) a near normal Autumn (Milwaukee Autumn report and Madison Autumn report).  The annual climate summaries for 2012 are available for Milwaukee and Madison as well.
