Preliminary Dec 28/29 Snow Totals (updated 12/29)

Although much of southern WI received an inch or less of snow, heavier amounts did fall north of Madison from the Wisconsin Dells area to Beaver Dam and Sheboygan.  Light snow falling over east central and southeast Wisconsin in the morning is adding to the snowfall totals.

The maps below summarize the reports received so far.  5.2" of snow was measured at Beaver Dam as of Friday evening, with a storm total of 6.7 inches just west of there as of 8 am this morning.  An average of 3 to 5 inches fell in Sauk, Sheboygan, Columbia, Marquette, and Green Lake Counties.  More snowfall reports will be added to the plot below as they are received.

The graphic below plots the snowfall reports and uses a model to fill in the gaps.  The snowfall amounts in this graphic are only an estimate.
