Statewide Wisconsin Weather Forecast Graphics

If you're interested in NWS weather forecast graphics for Wisconsin on a statewide basis, click hereMouse over the various parameters and you'll see the graphic change.  You can advance through 12-hour periods and then view specific parameter values at various times during that 12-hour period.

The statewide Wisconsin weather graphics are actually a mosiac of graphics generated by 5 National Weather Service Forecast Offices (WFO) that serve Wisconsin:  Milwaukee, Green Bay, La Crosse, Minneapolis and Duluth.  When each office updates their forecasts, these graphics are automatically updated.

To view similar graphics for other states simply substitute the name of the state for Wisconsin in the URL posted in the first paragraph of this story.

Additonally, to aid State of Wisconsin agencies such as Emegency Management and Department of Transportation for planning purposes, statewide Wisconsin snow forecasts and liquid water equivalent are produced  for only the firest three days of a forecast. These graphics are posted on our Winter Weather Summary Page, in the first row of thumbnail images near the top of the page.  These graphics are based on contributions from the 5 WFOS that serve Wisconsin.

WFO County Warning Areas

Normally, each WFO concentrates on forecast details for their assigned area of responsibility, entitled County Warning Area (CWA).  Therefore, the graphics on their web sites would normally address just their CWA.  The size and shape of each CWA varies considerably across the country, as seen in the map of a portion of the county below.
