Has not hit 90F yet in Milwaukee/Madison (updated 7/1)

Issued 520 am CDT Sunday June 30th 2013 (updated 315 am Monday)

We have talked about the wet weather this year versus last years drought in southern Wisconsin.  The hot and dry goes hand in hand in 2012.  In 2013, the wet weather helps prevent the heat.

It has not yet hit 90F in either Milwaukee or Madison so far in 2013.  In contrast, last year it had already hit 90F on 8 days in Milwaukee and on 12 days in Madison up through the end of June.

So the first week of July 2013 looks to be about 10 to 20 degrees cooler than last year for maximum temperatures.   The comparison between this years forecast for July 1 to July 6th versus observed highs in 2012 for the same period is below.
