Today Is National Heatstroke Prevention Day

As of July 10, 2013, 19 children have lost their lives in the U.S. because they were left inside a vehicle.  This is absolutely preventable but people need to be made aware of the problem.

Consequently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide are conducting a National Heatstroke Prevention Day on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.

If appropriate, please consider helping promote this campaign's safety messaging via your local social media networks on July 31st.

The NHTSA has created a flyer with canned social media messages. Below are a couple canned messages:

The Milwaukee Health Department developed a poster highlighting the danger of leaving kids inside a vehicle on a sunny, hot day.  A Spanish version is available here.  Feel free to print and use these posters!
