Thunderstorms with Heavy Rain (Updated 600 PM Saturday)

A warm front will slowly move northward into central Wisconsin this evening as a cold front extending from deep low pressure in the eastern South Dakota/southern Minnesota area moves slowly eastward across southern Wisconsin tonight.  Thunderstorms ahead of this front are producing heavy rainfall across portions of south central and southeast Wisconsin.  A few thunderstorms could produce wind gusts up to 50 mph.  The overall severe thunderstorm risk is lower now due to all the cloud cover over southern Wisconsin earlier today.

Rainfall rates with the stronger thunderstorms are 1 to 3 inches per hour, which can lead to street and rural flooding.  Check out the below images for additional rainfall across southern Wisconsin and the region.
