Very cold air is headed our way. A strong cold front swept across the area overnight, pushing temperatures down into the upper teens to lower 20s. A cold northwest wind and partly cloudy skies will only allow temperatures to rise a few degrees today. These readings are about 20 degrees below normal. The wind and cold temperatures will result in wind chills in the single digits. In fact, expected high temperatures on today and Sunday will be near or below the normal low temperature for November 23rd. Brrr! Be sure to dress warmly.
The very cold weather will stick around southern Wisconsin tonight and Sunday as well, before a slight moderating trend early next week. The graph below shows the temperature trend for the week ahead across southern Wisconsin. These numbers are a rough average across about the southern 1/3 of the state. It will be even colder up north.
