Untreated Roads Remain Icy During The Early Morning Hours (Updated 530 AM 1/11)

Low pressure will continue to move northeast of the area early this morning. The precipitation associated with the low has moved out of the area, with fog and drizzle lingering.

A Freezing Rain Advisory and Winter Weather Advisory are in effect until 6 AM this morning across southern Wisconsin. The Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect for mainly southeast and portions of east central Wisconsin, and the Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for south central Wisconsin.

Untreated roads and sidewalks across the area remain ice covered and hazardous, due to road temperatures remaining below freezing. Road temperatures are not expected to warm up much into this morning, so the ice will be slow to melt without treatment. Conditions should improve this morning, as more roads get treated, helping to melt the ice.
