The last three months (March-April-May) have continued to record and sustain a long term above normal temperature trend across the region.

All indications are, that the state of Wisconsin has also had a record warm spring, just like Minnesota. If it was not the warmest Wisconsin spring on record, it was in the Top Five.
The main driver for the extremely warm spring, was the month of March 2012. However April and May 2012 were also above average, but they were nowhere near the warmest.
The fact is, that March 2012 was so over-the-top warm that it has almost single handedly carried the spring of 2012 averages to the number one warmest.
Focusing on West Central Wisconsin, in Eau Claire where the historical combined climate dates back to the 1890's, it was the warmest spring on record (noted on the chart by the circle.) The second warmest spring on record was 1977.
