Below are the monthly breakdowns for December, January, and February of the three major climate sites in the NWS Twin Cities Forecast Area.  As you can see, we generally experienced a warm December, near normal to slightly above normal January, and a cooler than normal February.  Averaged together, the entire winter was near normal across the area.  As for precipitation, Decemeber and February were both wet, and January was near normal.  Again, averaged together, the winter was wetter than normal across the area.  Some of the precipitation did not fall as snow, however, so snowfall totals were generally near normal, with the exception of certain areas like Eau Claire where the winter was snowier than normal, and far southern Minnesota saw a bit less snow than normal.
