Low Temperatures for 2/11/2014

Little to no wind, clear skies, and a cold air mass allowed temperatures to fall well below zero across Upper Michigan during the early morning hours of 2/11/14. Many interior locations experienced temperatures <-20F, with the coldest of -30F at multiple locations. The sun quickly mixed out and warmed the shallow cold layer near the ground as temperatures rose back above 0F for many areas by 11am EST.  The image below is a collection of observed low temperatures from official observers and various automated stations.
