Records for Latest Sub-Zero Highs Broken

A very cold, late season arctic air mass has settled over the Upper Great Lakes. Given the magnitude of the cold air combined with ice cover on Lake Superior, much of the west half of Upper Michigan failed to rise to 0F today (Thursday), marking the latest sub-zero maximum temperature on record for a winter season at many locations.
