2010 Second Warmest Year on Record at NWS Marquette

The 2010 yearly average temperature at the National Weather Service office in Negaunee Township was 43.2 degrees. This is well above the yearly normal average temperature of 39.7 degrees. The list below shows the Top 10 warmest years on record.

One item of note is how this year compares to past years that started with an El Nino. For example, both 1987 and 1998 had an El Nino in place at the start of the year, which produced warmer than normal winter and spring temperatures. 2010 had the same results, with the month of January through May all ending up well above normal.
