Return to Winter Weather with Strong Winds Today into This Evening

A strong low pressure system moving across Upper Michigan this morning, and into Ontario and Quebec tonight, will bring a return to winter weather conditions across the area today. As much colder air charges into the area, expect scattered rain showers to mix with and change to sleet and snow this morning over western Upper Michigan, then across the rest of Upper Michigan this afternoon. Snow accumulations of a few inches are possible over the higher terrain of western Upper Michigan. Winds will be strong out of the north with gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph near the Lake Superior shore and up to 30 mph inland. Below are the latest wind advisory text and wind threat graphic for Upper Michigan today.
