Snow Amounts - February 5-6, 2008

 A large storm system brought  heavy snow to parts of the the region and severe weather from Texas to the Ohio River Valley.  Deadly tornadoes were reported across Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky.  See below for a map of the local snowfall reports and the severe storm reports.  For the latest road conditions visit our road reports page.

AROUND 7 AM LOCAL TIME.  THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE FROM AIRPORTS AND THE NWS     
IS FOR THE PERIOD FROM MIDNIGHT TO MIDNIGHT STANDARD TIME. THE MINIMUM    
TEMPERATURE FROM AIRPORTS AT ASOS (AUTOMATED SURFACE OBSERVING SYSTEM)SITES,  
THE NWS, AND FROM AIRPORTS AT AWOS (AUTOMATED WEATHER OBSERVING SYSTEM)  
SITES IS FOR THE 14 HOURS ENDING AROUND 8 AM STANDARD TIME. PRECIPITATION      
MEASUREMENTS AT THE AIRPORTS ARE TAKEN BY HEATED AUTOMATED RAIN GAGES AND ARE    
AVAILABLE PRIMARILY FROM MARCH THROUGH NOVEMBER. THESE AIRPORT PRECIPITATION
