Snowfall/Precipitation Maps From Thursday Night's Storm

Thursday night's storm brought a mixed bag of weather to the region.  The precipitation moved in during the afternoon with freezing sprinkles and freezing rain, then changed to sleet and snow.  The combined ice and sleet varied from a tenth to three quarters of an inch...especially over southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.  Farther north, more of the precipitation was sleet and snow.  5 to 11 inches of snow were reported north of a line from Columbus to Little Sioux, Iowa northward. In addition to the ice, sleet, and snowfall amounts, of significance was the water equivalent of the precipitation.  Most locations picked up 0.25 to .75 " water equivalent with locally higher amounts. The water equivalent at Walthill was 1.15"; at Nebraska City-0.90", at Uehling - 0.81", at West Point - 0.85".  Glenwood, Iowa -0.80"

Snowfall totals:  Omaha Eppley-2.2"    Omaha Vally-2.1"   Lincoln-1.5"   Norfolk 4W-8.8"
