Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa and Nebraska April 6 to April 10
The National Weather Service, the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management will conduct a Severe Weather Awareness Week to promote severe weather safety to the citizens of Iowa and Nebraska. The week is from April 6 through April 10, 2009. Schools, businesses and individuals should think about severe weather before it strikes, and have an action plain in place both at work and at home to respond to severe weather.
During Severe Weather Awareness Week, the National Weather Service will promote weather safety by issuing informative daily Public Information Statements. Topics will include:
Monday...Flooding Tuesday...Severe Thunderstorms Wednesday...Tornadoes Thursday...NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio Friday...Family Preparedness
