Tornado Damage Confirmed in Wayne and Cass Counties

Tornadoes Confirmed across portions of eastern Nebraska

...EF-1 TORNADO DAMAGE CONFIRMED IN CASS COUNTY NEBRASKA...

...EF-0 TORNADO DAMAGE CONFIRMED IN WAYNE COUNTY NEBRASKA...

AN NWS ASSESSMENT TEAM HAS CONFIRMED THAT TWO TORNADOES
TOUCHED DOWN YESTERDAY.

A BRIEF EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 2 MILES SOUTH OF THE PLATTE
RIVER NEAR HIGHWAY 66 AND 96TH AROUND 605 PM. THIS BRIEF TORNADO
CAUSED DAMAGE TO A POLE BARN. AN EF-1 RATING INDICATES WIND SPEEDS
RANGING FROM 86-110 MPH.

ANOTHER TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN BRIEFLY IN WAYNE COUNTY AROUND 258 PM
ABOUT 9 MILES NORTH OF WISNER AND WAS ON THE GROUND FOR ABOUT ONE
AND ONE QUARTER MILES. THIS TORNADO HAS BEEN RATED AN EF-0. SOYBEAN
CROPS WERE DAMAGED IN THIS TORNADO. AN EF-0 RATING INDICATES WIND
SPEEDS RANGING FROM 65-85 MPH.

THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAUSED CROP DAMAGE ACROSS PORTIONS OF
SOUTHERN CUMING COUNTY NORTH OF THE CITY OF DODGE. OTHER
THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE OCCURRED ACROSS PORTIONS OF FAR
SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY...NORTHEASTERN DOUGLAS AND
NORTHWESTERN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY. MOST OF THE DAMAGE WAS TO TREES
BUT SOME LIGHT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO A BUILDING WAS ALSO REPORTED IN
POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY NEAR CRESCENT.
