...MISSOURI RIVER STAGES AT BOTH PLATTSMOUTH AND NEBRASKA CITY
PRELIMINARILY SURPASS THE STAGES SET IN THE 1993 FLOOD...

RIVER STAGES ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER HAVE PRELIMINARILY INCREASED
TO RECORD LEVELS AT BOTH PLATTSMOUTH AND NEBRASKA CITY...SURPASSING
THE PREVIOUS FLOODS OF RECORD SET IN 1993 AT BOTH LOCATIONS. AT
PLATTSMOUTH...THE PREVIOUS RECORD SET IN 1993 WAS 35.65 FET. AT
NEBRASKA CITY...THE PREVIOUS RECORD SET IN 1993 WAS 27.19 FEET.

A NEW RECORD WAS ALSO SET THIS YEAR AT BROWNVILLE THIS PAST
WEEKEND...SURPASSING THE FLOOD OF 1993...AND A NEW RECORD IS
FORECAST FOR RULO LATER THIS WEEK WHICH WOULD SURPASS THE FLOOD OF
2010.

THE MISSOURI RIVER AT BOTH OMAHA AND BLAIR ARE ALSO PRELIMINARILY
AT THEIR SECOND HIGHEST LEVELS FOR THE PERIOD OF RECORD...BEHIND THE
FLOOD OF 1952.

THE HISTORIC RIVER LEVELS ARE THE RESULT OF RECORD RELEASES OUT OF
THE SIX UPSTREAM RESERVOIRS ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER. RECORD
RELEASES OUT OF THE DAMS ARE FORECAST TO CONTINUE FOR MOST OF THE
SUMMER RESULTING IN A VERY PROLONGED PERIOD OF MODERATE TO MAJOR
FLOODING. MODERATE FLOODING IS CURRENTLY OCCURRING FROM SIOUX CITY
DOWNSTREAM THROUGH OMAHA. MAJOR FLOODING IS CURRENTLY OCCURRING FROM
PLATTSMOUTH DOWNSTREAM THROUGH RULO.
