Weather Observers Needed near Albion, NE and Onawa, IA

The National Weather Service (NWS) is in need of volunteers to report temperature and precipitation readings in or near the following cities: Albion, NE and near Onawa, Iowa.

Observer duties will be to make once daily reports of 24 hour precipitation, including snowfall and snow depth. The observer will also report the daily high and low temperatures. The temperature display has a 30 day memory so it is possible for you to be on vacation yet still report your temperatures once you return.

Observing is simple and so is reporting your observation via a program accessed through the internet. All you need to get started is the interest, a PC, internet access and we will supply everything else.

Volunteers have taken daily observations as far back as the 1890s in these cities. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in weather who wants to render a valuable public service. If you are interested and desire more information, please contact:
