Fall is creeping into the Central United States! The image below, updated daily, tracks the locations that have received their first freeze (32 degrees or colder) of the season.

Also, the map of the median first freeze date (32 degrees), based on the 1981-2010 period, is below. The "median" is the date when half of the years had their first freeze earlier and half of the years had their first freeze later. It is close to the "average" first freeze date, but not necessarily the same.
