Record Thanksgiving Warmth

Record high temperatures were observed Thanksgiving Day 2011 at Omaha and Lincoln with 73 and 72 degrees respectively.

 ...RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE SET IN OMAHA...NEBRASKA...

AT 319 PM THE TEMPERATURE AT OMAHA EPPLEY REACHED 73 DEGREES.
THIS NOT ONLY SHATTERED THE PREVIOUS RECORD HIGH FOR NOVEMEBER
24TH FOR THE OMAHA AREA...IT WAS ALSO THE WARMEST SO LATE IN THE
SEASON.  THE OLD RECORD FOR NOVEMBER 24TH WAS 65 SET IN 1990 AND THE
PREVIOUS WARMEST TEMPERATURE SO LATE IN THE SEASON WAS 72
DEGREES RECORDED ON 11/29/1998...11/25/1960 AND 12/6/1939.
THE 73 HIGH WAS ALSO THE WARMEST THANKSGIVING DAY ON RECORD.

AT 257 PM CST THE TEMPERATURE HIT 72 DEGREES IN LINCOLN. THIS
ESTABLISHED A RECORD HIGH FOR NOVEMBER 24TH...BREAKING THE OLD
RECORD OF 70 SET IN 1990.  THE 72 WAS ALSO THE WARMEST THANKSGIVING
ON RECORD IN THE LINCOLN AREA.
