July 2012 - Driest on Record at some locations

July 2012 will go down as the driest July on record for the Omaha area.  At Eppley Airfield, only 0.01 inches of rain was reported during the month. 

At Lincoln, 0.33 inches of rain was reported, which makes it the second driest July on record.  The driest was 0.08 in 1936. 

At Norfolk, only a trace of rain was reported during the month.  This was the driest July on record for Norfolk. 

The complete July 2012 monthly climate summaries should be available by late morning Wednesday August 1.
