The past year was characterized by dry and very warm conditions across the Midwest. In Omaha, it was the 2nd warmest year on record, but by only 0.1 degrees. It was also the 29th driest year on record at Omaha. In Lincoln, it was the 6th warmest year on record and it was the 11th driest year on record. In Norfolk, it was the warmest year on record and the 2nd driest year on record. The summer months were especially dry with moderate to exceptional drought conditions that persisted through the fall and winter.
