February 16 Snow

A compact upper level disturbance brought some measurable snow to portions of eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa from Friday afternoon through Friday evening.  The band of snow was fairly narrow but did produce amounts of over 2 inches in some spots.  Below is a map of reported 24 hour snowfall amounts ending around 7 am cst Saturday morning February 16. Amounts reported at Eppley Airfield and at the NWS in Valley were less than an inch but a few reports of around 2 inches were received in south central Douglas county from broadcast media.
