Oct. 18, 2007 Damage Survey Reports, Photos, and Tornado Track Maps

Storms on the evening of Thursday, October 18, 2007 produced sixteen tornado tracks. This was the largest October tornado outbreak  in the 58-county Paducah NWS county warning area. Records were tied or broken for both the number and intensity of October tornadoes. About a dozen injuries were reported, but fortunately there were no confirmed fatalities according to emergency management officials.

  ACROSS THE SOUTHERN AND EASTERN SECTIONS OF MARSHALL COUNTY FROM
  NEAR HARDIN TO A FEW MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF FAIRDEALING. WITH
  THE EXCEPTION OF THE KENTUCKY LAKES SUBDIVISION...TREE DAMAGE
  WAS VERY SPARSE AND WAS INDICATIVE OF STRAIGHT LINE WIND DAMAGE.
  IN THE KENTUCKY LAKES SUBDIVISION...THERE WAS ISOLATED TREE
  DAMAGE IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE SUBDIVISION EXCEPT ON CORINTH
  STREET. ALONG A RELATIVELY SHORT STRETCH OF CORINTH STREET THERE
  WERE A NUMBER OF TREES BLOWN DOWN OR SNAPPED OFF ON TWO ADJACENT
  PROPERTIES. ONE OF THE TREES HAD FALLEN ON ONE OF THE RESIDENTS
  HOMES DOING MINOR ROOF DAMAGE. THE ROOF OF A STORAGE SHED WAS
  DESTOYED FROM A LARGE BRANCH. THIS TREE DAMAGE WAS INDICATIVE OF
  STRAIGHT LINE WINDS ALSO.

TORNADO CROSSED HIGHWAY 109.

THROWN SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS. BARNS AND ONE HOUSE WERE DAMAGED AS
THE TORNADO TRAVELED ALONG BUTTERMILK ROAD.
