Winter Weather Workshops conducted by NWS Paducah Nov. 18-20

In mid-November, a contingent of staff members from the Paducah National Weather Service office conducted a series of Winter Weather Workshops. The invitation-only workshops were conducted primarily for the emergency management and media community, along with other specialized NWS partners.

Workshops were held in Sikeston, MO on Nov. 18, Grand Rivers, KY on Nov. 19, and Carmi, IL on Nov. 20. Presentations focused on:

  • The latest research on nocturnal and cool-season tornadoes
  • The latest progress on last year's Customer Service Workshop
  • A review of last winter's Feb. 11 ice storm
  • Video of life-threatening floods from around the country
