A record rainfall of 2.12 inches was set at Paducah, Kentucky on Tuesday, August 4th, breaking the previous record of 1.49 inches set on this date in 1995. An average of 1 to 3 inches of rain fell across Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky during the late afternoon and evening hours as a slow moving line of strong to severe thunderstorms tracked southward across the area.
