Last month was the driest November on record at Paducah, following the wettest October

The monthly rainfall at Paducah was the lowest for November since records began in 1937. November monthly rainfall was 0.56 inch. The previous record driest November at Paducah occurred in 1949, when 0.79 inch fell.

Many locations received more rain than Paducah during the month. Evansville received over an inch of rain. Though this is well below normal, it is not even among the top ten driest Novembers on record there. Normal November rainfall is 3.5 to 4.5 inches across our area.

The November dryness followed a very wet October. October monthly rainfall at Paducah was a record 10.55 inches. Therefore, the impacts of the dry weather were positive for many of us.
