OVERVIEW

In Paducah, the average summer temperature was 81.0 degrees which is tied as the warmest summer on record for the city. This is also the average temperature for the summers of 1954 and 1952. There were 37 consecutive days when the daily high temperature was greater than or equal to 90 degrees. This is the 2nd longest streak. The longest streak is 38 days which occurred in the summer of 1993. The longest streak of temperatures of greater than or equal to 100 degrees was tied this summer with 5. This event also occurred in 1988, 1966 and 1954. Although it seemed like little rain had occurred. The summer of 2010 received 7.89 inches which is the 17th driest summer. The driest summer received only 2.54 inches of rainfall in 1949.

This season tied as the 3rd warmest summer on record for the City of Evansville. The warmest summer occurred in 1936 with an average temperature of 82.1 degrees. There were 17 consecutive days when the daily high temperature was greater than or equal to 90 degrees. This is tied as the 16th longest. The longest streak is 31 days which occurred in the summer of 2007. Although it seemed like little rain had occurred. The summer of 2010 received 6.84 inches which is the 17th driest summer. The driest summer received only 2.59 inches of rainfall in 1936.
