A prescribed burn in southwest Jackson County, IL today caused a smoke plume which extended southeast across Union, southwest Johnson, eastern Pulaski and western Massac counties in southern Illinois. The smoke eventually made its way down into parts of west KY, including parts of McCracken, Marshall and Graves. By 445pm, the plume affected communities from Alto Pass, Cobden, Anna, Cypress, Karnak, Joppa, and Metropolis, IL, and also Paducah, Ledbetter, Reidland, Symsonia, and Benton, KY.
