December averaged milder and wetter than normal across our region.

  • Precipitation averaged two to three inches above normal. At Paducah, December was the 9th wettest December on record. Evansville experienced its 11th wettest December.
  • Temperatures averaged 4 to 5 degrees above normal. It was the 14th warmest December at Paducah. Evansville did not rank among the top 15.
  • Snowfall was officially just a trace at both Evansville and Paducah, though many locations to the north and west received one to two inches of snow. Decembers without measurable snow are quite common at Paducah. At Evansville, there have only been 13 Decembers since 1897 without measurable snow.
