The Driest July in Colorado Springs

The total amount of precipitation recorded for the month of July at the Colorado Springs Airport was 0.29 inches.  This amount sets a new record for the lowest amount of precipitation recorded for the month of July since records have been kept at the airport location starting in 1948.  It also breaks the previous record for the Colorado Springs area set in 1924, where 0.30 inches of precipitation was recorded in July at the observation site located at Colorado College.
