A spring storm is projected to move across Colorado Sunday night and Monday. This system is expected to spread snow into the western mountains of the state as early as Sunday night with the potential for significant snowfall accumulations. This system is expected to eventually track across eastern Colorado spreading rain and snow across a portion of the eastern plains. The track of the system is still uncertain, however the potential exists for several inches of heavy wet snow to fall across the Palmer Divide, with a rain and snow mix spreading across portions of the eastern plains Monday afternoon through Monday night. Gusty northerly winds are also expected to accompany this system.
Any change in the track and intensity of this system could dramatically change the anticipated snowfall amounts. If you have travel or outdoor activities planned across Colorado during this time period, especially across the mountains, stay informed of the latest forecasts.
