Governor Ritter has proclaimed April 11 through 17 as Colorado Severe Weather Awareness Week. During this week the National Weather Service will issue daily statements on thunderstorm hazards, thunderstorm safety, and watches and warnings. The daily statements are available by clicking HERE.
On Wednesday April 14, weather permitting, a test tornado warning will be issued by the National Weather Service Office at Pueblo shortly after 10 AM MDT. This warning will be labeled a test, but will get the same dissemination as any tornado warning, including an alarm on NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio, and activation on the Emergency Alert System (EAS). This allows everyone to check both their warning reception and warning dissemination systems.
