Estimated Total Precipitation and Snowfall Map for 10/20/09 through 10/22/09 Winter Storm Event

A closed low pressure system moved across northern New Mexico late Tuesday(10/20/09), and into the Central Plains early Thursday(10/22/09).  Signficant precipitation fell across much of southern and eastern Colorado from Tuesday night through Wednesday night. 


Below are estimates of total precipitation(liquid) and snowfall amounts.  Several data sources were used: River Forecast Center QPE(Quantitative Precipitation Estimator), goverment observation systems, storm spotters, eSpotter reports, and CoCoRahs.  Click the below images for a larger view.
