Nationwide Test of EAS on Wednesday, November 9th

On Wednesday, November 9th , at approximately Noon Mountain Standard Time, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct the 1st ever Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System.  However, the test will NOT be broadcast over NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio, because it is intended to test other parts of the EAS communication system.

This Nationwide Test of the EAS will be heard on local and satellite radio, and seen on local, cable, and satellite TV, and will last under one minute.

To avoid confusion, the National Weather Service has been asked NOT to conduct the Routine Weekly Test (RWT) on Wednesday, which is normally done between 11 a.m. and Noon every Wednesday.  NWS Pueblo had an option of conducting the RWT on Tuesday, but with the possibility of inclement weather, we will NOT issue an RWT on Tuesday, or on any other day the second week of November.
