February 7 - Winter Storm Pounded Western Wyoming

A significant winter storm brought heavy snowfall to the western mountains and valleys of Wyoming on Thursday, February 7th with one to two feet of new snow in the mountains, and 5 to 12 inches in the lower elevations.  The new snowfall created several avalanches in the western mountains resulting in some road closures.   Snowfall east of the Continental Divide was lighter with the heaviest snow over the Bighorn Mountains.  Below are links to snowfall maps and a table of a preliminary snowfall totals for this system as of 8 pm on February 7th.
