Strong Spring Storm Impacts Wyoming...Summary.

A very strong spring storm significantly impacted Wyoming beginning March 28th, and lasting through the morning of Saturday March 31st.  This storm dropped impressive amounts of snowfall across the eastern portion of Wyoming, which are summarized in a table, and links to maps located below. Combine this heavy snowfall with strong winds over Johnson County... and blizzard conditions were found across the county on Wednesday March 28th, and into Thursday. In this area, a multi-vehicle accident occurred Wednesday morning at 8:45 AM on I-90 near milepost 45 and involved at least a couple of semis, a school bus, and a passenger vehicle.  A lot of roadways (including the major interstates of 25, 80, and 90) across eastern Wyoming were closed during the event....with some closures and/or "No Unnecessary Travel" orders issued beginning Wednesday afternoon.  This left some Wyoming citizens unable to return home from trips outside of the area until roads began to clear on Friday.

Winds were very strong and gusty from the north with this event (especially on Wednesday), and were preceded by strong gusty southerly winds on Tuesday.  Some of the higher gusts observed during the event were:
