May 22-23 - Rainfall Finally Comes to Western and Central Wyoming

A large upper level disturbance rotated slowly across Wyoming on Tuesday, May 23 producing heavy rain throughout the morning hours in western and central portions of the state.  The heaviest rain fell in a swath from southern Washakie County eastward across northwest Natrona and southern Johnson counties.  Rainfall of one to nearly two inches was common in this region prompting a small stream flood advisory during the day Tuesday.  See the table below for a listing of the various rainfall amounts.  To view high-resolution or low-resolution maps of this rain event click on the appropriate link below.
