Dubois NWR Transmitter Experiencing Problems

The NOAA Weather Radio transmitter serving the Dubois area (located on Windy Ridge, operating under call sign WNG-723, and transmitting at 162.450 MHz) is currently experiencing some unknown transmission problems at this time.  Several customers have reported intermittent or weak signals over the past two days.

Electronics technicians from the Riverton, Wyoming Weather Service Office will be inspecting the site on Monday, September 10, 2007,  to better assess the situation.  It is believed that strong winds have adversely affected the transmitting antenna, since other diagnostics report that incoming transmissions from the Riverton office are being received and the transmitting equipment is operating normally.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this intermittent outage, please contact staff at the Riverton, Wyoming Weather Service Office at 1-800-211-1448.  For current weather information, please continue to visit the Riverton, Wyoming Weather Service Office website on the Internet at http://weather.gov/riverton .
