Winter Weather Awareness Day set for Wednesday, October 11

The National Weather Service, Wyoming Office of Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency, and the American Red Cross have designated Wednesday, October 11th as 2006 Wyoming Winter Weather Awareness Day.  A public information statement will be issued that day to inform Wyoming residents and visitors how to prepare for the hazards of winter weather.  The statewide Emergency Alert System (EAS) will also be tested that day to ensure that communication systems are properly operating throughout Wyoming .  A test Blizzard Warning will be issued at 10:00 a.m. MDT with an all-clear statement at 10:30 a.m. MDT.
