December 4, 2007.  A strong moist westerly flow pushed snow into the

northwest Wyoming mountains and strong wind gusts down the east

slopes of the Absaroka Mountains into the Cody foothills.  A wind gust

of 110 mph was clocked by National Weather Service meteorologists at

the mouth of Clarks Fork Canyon southwest of Clark at 11 pm Monday evening.

The following are snowfall amounts across the west and additional wind speeds recorded in Park County Monday and Monday night. 

 

Clark’s Fork Canyon Rd at mouth of Clark’s Fork Canyon:  Wind speeds of 53 mph with a gust to 110 mph at 11 PM Monday.

Highway 120 five miles south of Cody near mile marker 78:  Wind speeds of 46 mph with a gust to 77 mph at 133 AM Tuesday morning.
