Snowfall Totals for the December 27-30th Storm

A moist west to southwest flow aloft ahead of a strong Pacific trough moving through the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies brough significant snow to portions of Wyoming west of the Continental Divide. The following snow amounts are 72-hour storm totals beginning at 7 AM MST Saturday December 27th through 7 AM MST Tuesday Morning December 30th.

High wind also accompanied the trough passage with several Western and Central Wyoming airports reporting wind gusts near or above 60 mph. A wind gust to 76 mph was recoreded at the Lander Airport ASOS at 127 AM MST Tuesday. The Jackson Airoport anemometer reported a wind gust to 68 mph at 135 AM MST Tuesday. Both the Buffalo and Riverton airports reported gusts to 59 mph at 651 PM MST Monday and at 215 AM MST Tuesday, repectively.
