Snowfall on January 11th and 12th

Moist northerly flow Sunday night, 1/11, through Monday morning, 11/12, produced light to moderate snowfall accumulations across portions of central and western Wyoming. The heaviest low elevation snowfall occured in southern Washakie County and Hot Springs County, where 3 to 5 inches of snow fell. Accumulation in Fremont County was generally 1 inch or less, except in the Lander Foothills, where 1 to 4 inches of snow was reported. The mountains of central and western Wyoming generally received 3 to 6 inches of new snow, although up to 10 inches fell in the higher elevations of the Bighorn Mountains and in the higher elevations of southeastern Natrona County. Yellowstone National Park received a general snowfall ranging from a half of an inch at Mammoth and the West Entrance to 5 inches at the East Entrance and in the higher elevations in the east central portion of the park.
