By the end of June, all weather forecast offices serving the National Weather Service Central Region will convert to a common left hand menu on their web pages. This change is motivated by the desire to respond to concerns raised by our users and, ultimately, to better serve the public. These changes have already taken affect for Central and Western Wyoming.
We have received a substantial number of requests to reorganize the menu into a design that is more streamlined and one that is uniform across office boundaries. The most common user concern raised is associated with difficulty finding the information a visitor is seeking because the home page menu choices are too numerous. Therefore, our first step in responding to that concern will be a common, simplified left hand menu.
For those users who frequent a particular office’s web site and are already accustomed to its choices, we understand this may represent a significant change requiring renewed familiarization. For any links missing from the past left hand menu choices (such as FAQ, Quick Brief, Recreation Pages, and Virtual Tour), please check our "Items of Interest" under "Additional Info" section. The "Items of Interest" page has links to pages no longer featured on the Left Hand Menu for Western and Central Wyoming. We are confident the more streamlined design will ultimately serve your needs more effectively.
