Cody Observation Availability

Yellowstone Regional Airport, also known as the "Cody Airport" is the official observation site for the town of Cody, Wyoming. The telephone lines that allow observations from the Cody AWOS to reach the outside world are not up and running normally. The telephone companies involved in the troubleshooting the communication lines are working on the problem.

In the meantime, the observation system is operational and is broadcasting at 135.075 MHz. The public can also call 307-527-5197 to access an automated recording of the current observation.

There is an unofficial observation available in the town of Cody if you need current weather information on the internet. It is located at the Park County Sheriff's Office. And as always, the NWS will continue to provide a local forecast for Cody.

The Cody AWOS is operated and maintained by the FAA and the Cody Airport. For more information on the AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) program, please click here.

Thank you for your patience as the involved parties work to find a solution.
