The National Weather Service in Riverton has begun issuing a Recreation Forecast for Grand Teton National Park for the 2012 season. The product is issued around 3:30 AM daily and contains several elements to help visitors stay safe and enjoy their visit, as well as help park staff provide a great visitor experience.

Below is an example product. The first section will contain a synopsis of the forecast for northwestern Wyoming, including Grand Teton National Park. The second section contains a lightning threat forecast for the park. Visitors hiking in or around the park should pay special attention to this section. The third section contains a sky/cloud forecast. This section will be especially helpful to photographers since it will help them determine if the mountains will be visible or not. The last section contains three-day point forecasts for seven locations around the park.
